CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF GRACE: A CALL TO EMBRACE AGAPE LOVE

| His Majesty King Mswati III addresses the congregants at Mandvulo |
King
Mswati opened the service with words of gratitude for the lush green vegetation
countrywide, which he described as a testament to God’s infinite love. “Today,
I want to speak about the love of God; it is truly special in our lives,” he
declared, encouraging congregants to reflect on the biblical passage from John
3:16, which speaks of God’s enduring love for humanity through the sacrifice of
His only begotten Son.
“The
type of love I am talking about is Agape love—an unconditional love that can
only be found in Jesus Christ,” the King explained. He encouraged attendees to
draw closer to God, highlighting that all churches across the country should
seek His grace and embrace His love. Celebrating 40 years of the monarchy, he
proclaimed, “Forty years marks a time for renewal and transformation.”
Drawing
parallels with scripture, the King noted that just as Jesus fasted for 40 days
and nights to receive God’s grace, and Moses journeyed through the desert for
40 years sustained by divine love, the people of Eswatini have faced numerous
challenges over these past four decades. “But through God’s grace, we have persevered,”
he stated confidently.
The
King called upon the nation to embark on a collective 40-day fast to ensure
spiritual renewal and draw strength from their faith. “This is no longer a time
for blame or judgment; it’s a moment to come together and praise God,” he
urged, fostering unity among the congregation.
He
recounted a powerful biblical story in which God instructed Moses to
demonstrate His might by turning a rod into a snake. Despite the efforts of
sorcerers to replicate the miracle, Moses’s snake consumed all others,
illustrating the triumph that comes through God's power. “If you walk with God,
nothing can conquer you,” the King affirmed, urging humility, forgiveness, and
reliance on divine strength.
Furthermore,
His Majesty emphasized the importance of living in truth, reminding congregants
that God does not support corruption. “As a nation, we must uphold integrity
and avoid becoming an embarrassment to God,” he said. Recalling the wisdom of
King Sobhuza II, he reiterated the message that “whosoever walks by truth shall
conquer the world.”
As
the service concluded, the King inspired congregants to devote time to worship
and communication with God, stating, “The world is in need of God’s love, and
this Agape love must reach every corner of our globe.” He assured the gathered
community that God would perform wonders in the coming years, affirming that we
stand together as a nation through both good times and bad, fortified by the
love of God.
The
King’s uplifting message resonated deeply, leaving the congregation with a
renewed sense of purpose and hope for the future of Eswatini.
