Yesterday, His Majesty King Mswati III called upon the Eswatini Nation to “break free from the prison of the mind” during the 2025 End Year Thanksgiving Prayer held at Mandvulo Grand Hall in Lozitha Royal Palace. The prayer service, themed “Sing a New Song for God’s Marvelous Works,” aimed to uplift the spirits of the congregation and reinforce their faith as they reflected on the year gone by.
In
his heartfelt address, the King acknowledged the myriad challenges that often
hinder individuals from believing in God’s presence. “Today is a Thanksgiving
service that reminds us that God was with us in the beginning of the year and
now in the end,” he stated. “We are here to thank Him for His grace, His
presence, and His protection over our lives and over the Kingdom of Eswatini.”
The
King emphasized the importance of diligently seeking God, urging his subjects
to draw closer to Him. “As children of God, we must seek Him earnestly, and the
Kingdom of Eswatini will find favor in His sight,” he asserted.
Throughout
his sermon, the King appeared deeply moved, filled with the Holy Spirit. He
openly shared his initial uncertainties at the start of the sermon, noting, “At
the beginning, I did not know what to say to the congregants. But as I continue
preaching, God is giving me words to say.” This humility resonated with those
in attendance, inspiring an atmosphere of connection and faith.
The
King frequently led the congregation in song, repeatedly singing “Wahamba
Natsi, Siyabonga Jesu,” which translates to “We thank God for walking with us
throughout the year.” His dynamic delivery kept attendees engaged, with
congregants remaining on their feet, eager for more inspiration. This powerful
end-of-year sermon left a lasting impact on the congregants, reminding them of
the strength found in faith and unity.
FAITH
AND PURPOSE
On
the other hand, Her Majesty the Queen Mother also addressed the gathering,
reminding the Emaswati of the approaching day of the Lord as she referenced
Luke 1:1-21, highlighting the miraculous birth of John, the son
of Zechariah, to inspire hope and reflection among the Emaswati.

The
prayer service, which lasted over eight hours, brought together a diverse array
of attendees, including distinguished guests such as former Presidents Joseph
Kabila from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Dr. Ian Khama from Botswana.
Representatives from the Zulu Kingdom were also in attendance, alongside
Reverend Mark Burns from the United States and renowned South African gospel
artist Sindi Ntombela, who contributed to the uplifting atmosphere of the
event.
This
gathering was marked by a spirit of unity and gratitude as congregants reflected
on the year and looked forward to the blessings of the coming year. The Queen
Mother's messages of faith, purpose, and authenticity resonated deeply with the
audience, reinforcing the importance of staying true to one's calling in service
to God and the nation. As the day concluded, the congregation left with renewed
spirits and a commitment to embody the values of faith and dedication
emphasized throughout the service.
