ANGLICAN CHURCH AND BIKERS BRING JOY AND RELIEF TO MALINDZA RECEPTION CENTRE

Members of the Anglican Church, alongside a dedicated group of bikers, visited the Malindza Reception Centre on Saturday, where they made generous donations of food and clothing.

A Day of Joy and Relief

The group's generosity was evident in the donations of food and clothing, which will undoubtedly make a substantial difference in the daily lives of the refugees. Furthermore, the bikers and Anglican Church members took it upon themselves to prepare and serve a warm supper, providing a sense of comfort and home away from home for the residents.

A Personal Connection

Among the bikers were individuals who had personal connections to the struggles faced by asylum seekers. Refugees who fled Mozambique decades ago, specifically in 1971 and 1977, and currently reside in Siteki, having secured legal status in Eswatini, joined the group. These individuals shared their harrowing experiences of escape, recalling how they fled with only small bags, attempting to remain unseen as they sought safety away from home.

Ongoing Commitment

Moved by their past experiences, the Anglican Church and bikers are committed to continuing their efforts in mobilizing resources to support asylum seekers in need. They recognize the importance of providing essential items such as clothing and food, which can significantly improve the quality of life for the refugees living at the centre.

Camp Manager's Gratitude

Bongekile Mamba, the Camp Manager, spoke on behalf of the refugees, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the support received. "There is an ongoing need for clothes and more food," Mamba stated. "This assistance not only supports nutrition but also helps the refugees feel at home, away from home."

Therapeutic Experience

The visit from the bikers also brought a sense of joy and excitement to the children at the camp, providing a much-needed therapeutic experience filled with laughter and entertainment. Their arrival was met with enthusiasm, as the bikers engaged with the kids, spreading happiness and warmth.

A Lasting Impact

The Anglican Church and bikers plan to continue their efforts, fostering a sense of community and compassion for those seeking refuge. Their ongoing commitment aims to uplift spirits and provide essential aid to those who have faced tremendous challenges in their pursuit of safety and stability.

In the words of the Anglican Church and bikers, "We will continue to mobilize resources and support those in need, because when we understand their struggles, we can provide hope and comfort."
