MINISTER OF HOME AFFAIRS HRH PRINCESS LINDIWE RECEIVES GENERIUS DONATION FOR MOZAMBIQUE ASYLUM SEEKERS
In a significant show of support for the Mozambique asylum seekers at the Malindza Reception Centre, the Honorable Minister of Home Affairs, HRH Princess Lindiwe, received a generous donation yesterday valued at E50,000. The donation, which includes essential items, is aimed at assisting individuals who have sought refuge in the country.
The donated items comprise five boxes of sanitary pads, two boxes of sunlight soap, three boxes of bath soap, two boxes of toothbrushes, toothpaste, and 50 hampers containing staple food items such as mealie meal, beans, sugar, soup, and cooking oil.
Expressing her sincere appreciation for the kind gesture, Minister Lindiwe acknowledged the contributions made by Inyatsi Group and other partners in supporting the needs of the asylum seekers. “We would like to express our gratitude to all those who have extended a helping hand by making donations to the Centre. Your generosity makes a significant difference in the lives of those in need,” she stated.
The Minister also called on other organizations and individuals to join this noble cause, urging them to send donations either to the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) or directly to the Malindza Refugee Reception Centre. “Urgently needed items include tents, clothes, dignity kits, toiletries, food assistance, trained volunteers, and security patrols. Every contribution counts,” she emphasized.
As the situation for many asylum seekers remains critical, this support plays a vital role in ensuring their basic needs are met while they seek refuge and a new start in a safer environment.
