HIS MAJESTY KING MSWATI III ELEVATES MEDIA TO STATUS OF REGIMENT AT TETFULO PRESENTATION

His Majesty King Mswati III recognized the media as a regiment on par with other esteemed regiments in the country. The announcement came during the Tetfulo presentation held last night at Ngabezweni Royal Residence, where local companies and individuals were honored for their contributions, amounting to over E21.1 million, including 330 cattle, cash, groceries, and other thoughtful gifts.

Adressing the gathering, His Majesty expressed his gratitude for the generous offerings, acknowledging the significant role they play in ensuring the success of the ongoing Incwala ceremony. "As the nation has come in large numbers to the ceremony, there should be plenty of food during the course of the ongoing Incwala ceremony, as per the Siswati saying 'Lijaha sisu,'" he remarked, emphasizing the importance of communal celebration and sustenance during this sacred time.

The Tetfulo presentation, a hallmark of Swazi culture, saw an outpouring of support from local businesses and individuals as they came together to honor the festivities. His Majesty thanked the contributors, assuring them that their gifts would enhance the festivities.

Nonetheless, the elevation of the media to regiment status signifies a new era in the nation, where the fourth estate is recognized for its vital role in shaping public discourse and contributing to national identity. As the Incwala ceremony continues, it is hoped that this recognition will foster a deeper partnership between the monarchy and media practitioners across the country.
